PostSubject: How to make an intro   Fri Jul 17, 2009 11:43 pm

Roleplaying is basically like acting like a character in a novel that you are writing. Intros are your point of view of the start or the begining of that particular roleplay. It can be any length, as long as it is describing the characters actions while somewhat introducing them. It could be "bob walked in." or "Robert walked into the room flipping his shoulder-length blonde hair as his blue eyes scanned the room for any sign of his best friend who was supposed to be meeting up with him for a cup of coffee this sunday afternoon."

One sentence for an intro or a post is noted as a one-liner and you are usually defined as illiterate, unless you have writers block.
Three sentences mean you are semi-literate and you have been roleplaying maybe a week or so. You have a good feeling of roleplaying.
Five sentences mean you are willing to give decent roleplays and you are a somewhat literate roleplayer.
One paragraph (ten sentences usually) means you know what you are doing. You know the plot, you know the setting and you are ready to roleplay and you are willing to type if it means making the roleplay interesting.
Anything more then three paragraphs mean you got the whole roleplay thing down and you are literate to advanced.
More than five paragraphs means you are over advanced and you have been roleplaying for quiet a while.

But it is also all about correct spelling, puncuation, capitalization, vocabulary, usage, and grammar. You can't be literate and mess up on every other word, and you can't be advanced and not capitalize or puncuate your entire sentence.

Practice, play around with it. You will have fun, I garuntee it.

It's good... Check your spelling of guarentee and punctuate! At least you didn't spell "spelling" wrong. Wink

No all will be good at spelling or punctuation , i don;t want members to feel too upset or embarrassed to not post or rp, as long as people can make out what is going on, then that is all that matters.

I'm joking, Remus. The only thing I disapprove of language-wise is text-talk.

I freaking hate text talk.
Almost as much as Tonks hates spiders.

Also it should be added that there is times where you OVER do something. I've seen people write seven paragraphs on the mud that was on their boot before they entered into a pub before. How it got there, the color and texture of it, how he thought about removing it, then finally the act of removing it.

As much as I adore detail its rather annoying when you have to sift through what should have been no more than a few lines to find an actual action to feed off of to make your post. I am a person that can feed off other's posts quite well and its rather annoying when they simply rehash the same thing through out the entire length of their post.

If you want a short phrase it could be "Over Detailing" or "Over Detailing Subject"

Just a thought ^^;
